English Foundation Course: Empathy and Conflict Resolution
March to April 2026
Matthias Flury and Martina Pesce offer an introduction to the art of empathic listening and conflict resolution.
This is an introduction. No previous knowledge is necessary.
The course will be held in English. Matthias Flury speaks fluent German and English. Martina is fluent in Italian, Spanish & English. You can speak each of these languages in the course.
Both on a small and large scale, we humans are traversing an uncertain and highly complex terrain. Differences of opinion and conflicts seem to be inevitable.
We have made it our mission to support individuals and groups in listening to each other, even when opinions are diametrically opposed or even in conflict.
To help deepen interpersonal cohesion both in intimate relationships and in society as a whole, we carry out educational work on the topics of empathy and conflict resolution. We believe that an empathic culture can bring back cohesion in situations in which it still seems unthinkable today for people to find each other again.
In this course, you will learn how to communicate in a way that increases the chance of others
- understanding your point of view
- feeling curious to listen to you
- wanting to cooperate with you
You will learn to navigate conflicts so that
- You are addressing the cause and not the symptoms
- All parties are heard
- Creative solutions are found that cover as many needs as possible
You will discover self-care practices which will help you
- Cultivate acceptance and self-connection
- find inner clarity
- deal with strong emotions such as anger, sadness or fear
Spreading these skills is our contribution to the challenging yet wondrous journey of humanity.

Dates: Mondays: March 23, March 30, April 13, April 20, Saturday April 25 (10am-5pm), April 27 2026
Time: Each Mondays we meet 18:00-21:00. Saturday 25.4. we meet 10:00-17:00
Location: Chalou Community (Chateau Luegisland) offer their cosy music room in their communal living space.
Busstation: Gutenswil Sternen (B 725), 5-10 min walk up the hill – with view on the mountains on a nice day.
The exact address will be shared after signing up for the course.
Money: We deliberate extensively about how to distribute and ask for money (find out more here, in German). All people can take part in our courses, regardless of their financial means. In other words: you pay what you can, including zero.
Reference price: 90–230 CHF per session
Invoice: We can issue an invoice for your workplace for this training course.
Group size: 10–15 participants and 2–3 assistants
Trial: If you don’t want to register for the whole course, you can register for a non-binding trial. If you try it out, you are free to decide whether you simply want to enjoy the first session or whether you want to sign up for the whole course afterwards.
